Together with main Sponsors, Crown Timber Plc, the Bristol TTBS Region Committee once again provided an exceptional golf event on Thursday 25th September at the superb Bristol & Clifton Golf Club, Beggar Bush Lane, Failand, Bristol.
The players enjoyed the course in fantastic condition and with the fine weather adding to the successful 18 hole individual Stableford and team competition attended by over 40 timber industry players.
The Hole Sponsors contributing to the success were John Huckman, James Latham plc, International Plywood, Avon Plywood, BSW Timber, Danzer UK, UPM Kymenne, Staddon Timber, Mourne Timber Solutions, Clarks Wood Co, Taylor Maxwell Timber, Balcas Timber, Snows Timber, Robbins Timber, FW Morgan, Northwood Forest Products, Bristol City Timber and Compass Forest Products.
The Bristol TTBS Regional Chairman, Martin Batts announced a profit of £2,000 raised from the event after the splendid lunch provided by the Bristol & Clifton Club catering team.
Ivan Savage, TTBS General Manager, who was in attendance, thanked the Bristol Committee members and all the attendees for their continued support for the TTBS and the UK Beneficiaries. He reminded them that there was an ongoing need to connect with the retiring and long term sick leaving timber companies, through the company HR managers and departments, who were inevitably the last people to have contact and who could do so much to inform the ex-employees that the TTBS was always available to assist them, should they require help in the future. He also thanked the Sponsors and all in attendance for their generous support for all TTBS events throughout the years.
The awards on the day were presented to:
Individual Stableford Winner with 37 points (and also Best Gross score of 72) - Andrew Elmey
Runner up, also on 37 points - Alistair Brown
Third place on 35 points - Nigel McKillop
Longest Drive - Mike Britton
Nearest the Pin - Clive Britton
First Team (best 3 scores) with 120 points - Timbmet
