The hugely successful Timber Expo event held at the NEC on the 7th and 8th October provided exceptional exposure for the Timber Trades Benevolent Society.
Ivan Savage TTBS General Manager who manned the TTBS stand over the two days commented as follows:
“ The TTBS are extremely grateful to Loretta Sales, Timber Expo Director and her colleagues for their support, with the provision of a gratis stand in a prominent position to promote the work of the Society.
The opportunity to network with the Exhibitors and visitors to the Expo is of considerable benefit to the TTBS and helps to spread the message about the invaluable work that we do to assist the less fortunate from our industry.
This year, I was able to tell visitors to the TTBS stand about our expanded beneficiary cover, which includes employees of Trussed Rafter Association (TRA) fabricator members and also employees who work for timber preservation companies, employed in the treatment of bulk timber products for merchants and other end users.
I was also able to thank the principals of the Structural Timber Association (STA) for their continued support with a donation from their Annual Dinner.
I hope that the Expo continues to get the fullest support from existing and new Exhibitors to maintain the success of the event and to showcase our exceptional timber industry of which I have been a part of for over fifty years
The prize winners in our Grand Draw on the 8th October were as follows:
Hanson Plywood Ltd – 1st Prize of £250.00 (Hanson Plywood Ltd have since kindly donated their 1st prize straight back to the TTBS funds)
Neil Heath – 2nd Prize of £150.00
Alex Taylor – 3rd Prize of £100.00
