Pfalz A1

This model started life as the Scaleplanes vacform kit of the Morane Saulnier 'L.'

The Pfalz company produced their own version, so I tried to replicate this in 1:72 scale.

The kit was prepared as normal, and then sprayed with a pale cream acrylic paint. In retrospect, not pale enough!

The wing ribs and all straight edges were then striped with plain black decal sheet cut into thin strips, in a similar way to the markings on the Ruston Camel.
The lettering on the side was produced by painting the curly bits in black over Letraset's (nice and plain) Arial font rub-down transfers. The crosses were cut from plain black sheet. The gaps between the decal strips above and below the wing, tail and fuselage edges were filled in by hand with black paint.

The wings were drilled to accept the elastic rigging and the wheels came out of the spares box - I can't use vacform wheels.
