Fokker D.VI
A simple conversion job, based on the fuselage of an Airfix Fokker Dr1 and the wings off a Revell Fokker DVII.
The DVII wings were shortened at the root to leave 12 ( and a half ) ribs on each side of the top wing and 9 ribs on each of the lower wings. These were attached using the DVII struts, slightly trimmed to give a more realistic interplane gap. The nose was sawn off to shorten the fuselage by 4mm or so, and the DR1 cowl attached.
The tail surfaces from the DR1 kit were used and the mauve/green colour scheme taken from Munson's 'World Aircraft - Fighters 1914-1918.' The black and white bands were made up of plain-coloured decal sheet cut into strips.
Meausurements of the model scale out quite well, certainly good enough for 1:72 scale, as long as you're not too picky !
