I've been exploring the potential of Augmented Reality for a while now. I'm really interested in its uses in education and I've been building AR resources to see if it can go beyond the gimmick. When I've shown it to students there is a high Wow factor but I'm interested in trying to establish it as a useful tool for teachers. Although I teach art I am in a position to build resources for other subjects. This area of my site will grow as I develop more ARs and if you find anything of interest and would like to know more, contact me.

This first one was built for a Space Futures project with some year 7s. It is still in development and is liable to change as my skills and ideas grow. To use it you will need to print out this:

Apollo 11 Marker

You will also need a web cam. When prompted, allow flash to have access to your camera. Place the print out in front of the camera in quite bright light so that the marker is clearly visible and the magic should happen. Use the arrow keys and X and Z to take the lunar lander for a flight.

This is an extension of the Space Futures project and allows the students to explore the Solar System.

You will need to print out this:

Djanogly Marker

This is very much in development but it is an attempt at building AR technology into a Mandarin language lesson. The use of Mandarin Characters lends itself to AR.
