WHO ARE LEARN ENGLISH AT HOME?

Learn English at Home (LEAH) is a Voluntary organisation, Registered Charity No 1057008, operating in Kingston and Richmond. We cater for the needs of non-English speaking residents who, for various reasons, are unable to attend classes.

Our next Tutor Training course starts September - apply now

HOW DOES THE SCHEME WORK?

Each LEAH Tutor has one student. The volunteer Tutor visits their student’s home once a week for one to two hours; mainly during term-time as most of our students are women with children both at home and at school.

For some the requirement is very basic – shopping, money, doctors, public transport etc.. for others, more advanced, possibly to help them move on to college or work.

Our aim is to enable the students to cope with daily life in this country.

LEAH is run by a management committee which has overall responsibility for the management of the Organisation.

The administration of the Project and supervision of Volunteers is undertaken by the Manager.
