   Community Appeal

St. Giles Church has been at the centre of our community for over 900 years providing a foundation of spiritual and practical resource in an ever changing world, a place where we can all rely on unconditional support throughout our lives.

We all know and love our Church for the stability and continuity it provides us.

Today, its place in our community has never been so important, as we meet new and sometimes difficult challenges. One constant in life is change and we must evolve as a Church, sympathetically and in empathy with our history, whilst providing the resources to fulfill our needs both today and in the future.

The Vision

Imagine knowing a place where everyone is welcome, a place to sit and chat, a place to discover local information, where local groups, charities, businesses and visitors can meet and utilise resources. A relaxed sociable community area available to everyone, right in the heart of our town.

With your help and support this vision can become a reality!

Meeting rooms will provide a much needed and sought after resource for our Church and the wider community. As a Church we will be able to dramatically expand and enhance our activities and support initiatives.

Many organisations have expressed great interest in using these areas when developed and we look forward to welcoming many people into the Church.

The cafe & shop area will be available all day, every day, providing a relaxing and social area serving our Church community and visitors alike - a great place to meet up in town!

Introducing these benefits will ensure St. Giles is able to invite people from all sections of the local community into Church bringing an investment of skills, diversity and friendship.

The appeal is being led and overseen by Fr. Bob Cooper and there are a number of groups that have been established to work on specific areas of the project and appeal.
