Message:	Barry, here's another idea for a fancy dress event. How about a Christmas version of "Stars in their eyes"? Everybody can dress up as their favourite stars and sing their best known songs. Of course, it wouldn't be as grand as the TV show as we couldn't afford the make up artists, wigs, expensive dresses and so on, but it's just for fun. Regarding the charity, we would suggest either Age Concern or Shelter (charity for homeless people). We'll leave it to Boing to decide as there are so many worthwhile charities that it is difficult to single one out. Kind regards Anne and CK

Message:	Hey everyone, There's been some interest in another fund-raising Karaoke Fancy Dress night at the POW sometime before Christmas. I know you've been asking around, CK and Anne, hehe! Just like last time, there's been some ideas put forward for a theme, or of course - just as before - there doesn't HAVE to be a theme. All I'm saying, as the Boingettes already said, it might be fun to see people's interpretation of a theme. Ideas that have been suggested by various people are 'Cowboys and Indians', 'Pajama Party' or, if it's going to be around that time, maybe a Christmas theme. If ANYONE has any other suggestions then get typing! And of course, we all want to have fun (and we will!), but in the spirit of Christmas we also should nominate a charity as well. Any ideas on that too - post 'em here! If you're okay with that Mr Boing, maybe the usual £1 for each song everyone gets to sing?

Message:	What a kafufel, we make one little comment and it all kicks off, come on everybody lighten up. This has gone a bit too far, karaoke is meant to be fun but it just seems that people are making a big deal of an innocent comments that are written by us. Nothing was meant by our message it just obviously wasn't made clear enough. At no time have either the buffmen or boingettes claimed or tried to run the show, that is the job of boing (he does it so well why mess with it). Karaoke is open to all, for everyone to come down and have a good time, we think it is a bit silly for people not to come just because some people go in larger groups then others, why does it make a difference? Like everyone else we just like a good drink boogie and sing song every thurs and sat. As far as the message is concerned I can see why people took it the wrong way and we hold our hands up to it. Ofcorse everyone can come as who they want, we were mearly only making a suggestion, as Barry and us had been looking at prices and thought some people might not want to pay too much for their outfits seeing as it is only for one night. Anyway I hope people can forget about what has happened and just enjoy the show. We're not that bad a people really. so lets forget what has been said and get back to having some fun! the boingettes. xxx

Message:	If anything I've written has offended anyone, I apologise. The Grease night is only a bit of fun for charity. We all have friends that we hang out with, but that doesn't mean we can't have fun in large mixed groups. If that wasn't true, there wouldn't be things like concerts, parties, Christmas, birthdays, pubs and...karaoke. I can't speak for anyone else but myself, but I believe what the Boingettes message meant was that not everyone out there may want to spend £40-50 on a costume. Of course people can dress up as, and be whatever or whoever they want to be. No-one is making rules, it was just an idea for a 'themed' fancy dress night. It's Mr Boing's show, not ours. I've been going to his shows for over two years and he is nothing but fair to all and doesn't exclude anyone. I've met lots of great people over that time from all different backgrounds, with different interests, different tastes in music. I'm not the world's most outgoing person and, I admit, most people have to speak to me first, but I like to think I get on with most people and I like to have fun like anyone else and that's what karaoke is all about. Regulars are regulars, neither myself, Mr Boing nor the pubs themselves control who wants to drink where. It's a cliche, but Can't we all just get along?

Message:	I have decided to put on the preceding 3 messages, as I have comments to make. Shelley, I've already spoken to you on this, and you know my position. I agree that anyone can come as who they like. The Boingettes last message should not be taken as law, but more as a suggestion and a statement of their intent, whatever way it was put. Lewis, I also agree that karaoke is for everyone, and I try to treat everyone who sings on my stage as equally as I can. What happens off-stage is not totally under my control. I would love it for everyone to get together in one big group and have a laugh, but people invariably will arrive in groups, which usually means that they'll stick together all night. No one can be blamed for that. What goes for individuals also goes for groups, group members will naturally talk more within their group than to others. Of course, you could always try and do what I have to do..... Talk to complete strangers like they're friends, in the hope that they'll respond..... Try it, see how hard it is! Louise, I'm sorry that you feel that you can't attend, and that you feel annoyed enough to complain. Some of my comments above may address the situation. I do take execption however about the same old faces "running the place". Take a close look at the pictures and see if there are any one set of people who get more songs (see who's holding the mics). I deliberately try to ensure fair play for all..... Elsewise I might as well just give my rig away to the group that shouts the loudest for attention! Whilst I recognise your right to your opinion, you must recognise that "the way it is" may well be different for you (who choses not to attend) than for I (who has to run the show, dealing with loads of people, each one saying that their case for singing is the most important). If I make mistakes some nights, then accept them as they are... Mistakes. I do not collude with anyone to put anyone else down.... Ever. Everyone, The "Grease" fancy dress night WILL go ahead. You can all come as you like. The whole evening is for charity, remember that. Stop moaning about this clique or that clique, and accept that you can't love everyone all the time. This is called TOLERANCE..... Try using it..... I have to! Who runs MY karaoke is not negotiable... It's me, I've paid for it in 20 years hard work, which is more years than most of my customers have on their passports! I do NOT take sides. If ANYONE tries to bitch me on my stage, then I don't care who you are, you're getting it right back! Nobody is forcing anybody else to stay, if you don't like what I'm doing, vote with your feet... I'm sure the managers would get the message! Yours in exasperation, Mr. Boing!

Message:	Hello all, It was a really nice day yesterday, with nearly 300 walkers from HSBC walking 10 miles for the very worthwhile charity the Children's Heart Federation. Thanks to Andy Wandy and Andrew Mc C for their roadie skills. Thanks also to Rodium and Andrew Mc C (again!) for their live stage performances. Thanks to the regulars who supported me.... Barry, Suzie, Loopy Lou, Marc (Happy birthday), oh and Andrew Mc C! Thanks go to the organisers.... Mike Thurbin, Simon Barker, Diane Foster, Rachel Jones, Traci Macdonald, Romana Malik, Dave Such, Susanne White, Anne Keatley-Clarke from CHF, and lastly but definitely not leastly, Anjali Walker. Thanks also to the members of the Eltham Phoenix and Chiselhurst Rotary Clubs, for giving up their Sunday to marshall the Walkers. Thanks to Andrew, Aaron and Zack, our magicians. Thanks to Richard for warming up the walkers. He came a long way to do this, and had to leave to catch a plane. Big thanks to Kevin, our Sean Connery Lookalike who came along early and had his photo taken with zillions of people! Message:	Just a few lines, Starting from next week, I will be changing the guestbook. There has been a lot of juvenile banter going on lately, and I don't appreciate it. How would you lot feel if I strolled into your house, picked up your phone, started badmouthing someone and then walked out without paying? This, effectively is what people are doing with my guestbook. It is disrespectful of my web space that I've spent 5 years continually refining, so that people have a nice web experience when they visit. In the last 5 days alone, I've removed more messages than in the last 5 years put together. To some, this may be an achievement, which says it all really! To combat this in future, my guestbook will require registration. Not only that, but anyone badmouthing (or attracting undue badmouthing from others) will be barred from using my guestbook. Decent people won't mind the inconvenience, whilst the blaggers will probably be disinclined, due to it being too much like hard work, I suspect. If there's any blaggers who feel hard done by... Tough, do something honest for a change. See what it's like for the people you rely on (that'll be the rest of the world) and stop acting like selfish oversized 3 year olds.
