Message:  Very interesting. I am collating my maternal family
history & have verified that my great grandma Eliza Acey
and family lived in Hollym and that in 1890 she gave birth
illegitimately to my grandfather George Henry Acey in
Patrington workhouse. I would be interested to know if
any " Aceys " are still in the immediate area.

Message:  I have thoroughly enjoyed looking through your website and all my memories
of Hollym come flooding back! My grandparents moved from the vicarage at
Ottringham in the 50's to Qu'Appelle a bungalow on the Withernsea Road. He
was the local vicar for a short time, Rev. Horace Mundy. We holidayed every
year at Hollym and Withernsea and made the trip up from London/Hull on the
Pullman train - what an adventure!! I remember many happy drinks in the
Plough! and walking along the clifftop - Brrrr! Windy!!! I am coming back up
there soon to see those Golden Sands and to have some nostalgic returns!!

Message:  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all the residents of
 Hollym.
I have very happy memories as I spent my first 8 years
there. My Grandma and Grandad Ward lived in the first
bungalow up the hill and my Auntie Millie and Uncle Arthur
lived around the corner. School consisted of one teacher,
Miss Bellis, two classes and 27 pupils. My best friend was
Richard Boasman and we used to play on his farm, they had a
shop in their house. I am currently tracing my family
history as my mum's family the Futty's lived for a long
time in the village so have become familiar with all the
long ago names after spending hours peering at census
 images.
