I spent 11 1/2 years in Wales and only knew it through the eyes of a child. Having emigrated to Canada in l956 with my parents and subsequently coming to America where I now reside I have a renewed interest in everything to do with Wales. I had two very good childhood friends which I have lost contact with. Marie Edge and Diane Jones, who also lived in Newbridge. When we separated we pledged never to lose contact with each other. As children do. All the best, Constance Bevan, daughter of John Maldwyn and Shirley Bevan |

She had three sisters,- Sarah, Beatrice and Alice and one half sister Winifred. Laura's father William Radcliffe died when she was 7 years of age and her mother Sarah Hannah(Smith) Radcliffe married William Duckett and eventually moved to Newfoundland, Canada from Swansea. I have not visited Swansea, but in 1986 while on a group tour of Great Britain our group did visit the Northern tip of Wales. I enjoy your website very much, especially the photographs. | Message: | I discovered Wales and his beauty in spring of 1995. I was staying over for work in Cardiff for six weeks. On a sunny weekend I made the voyage by train and by bus towards Laugharne all by my self and I did enjoy the effort as well as the view from the boathouse to the wather and the green hills. I remember writing to my girlfriend in Flanders having been impressed by the sight and changing view due to the changing tides...miracles came by my sight and even in my dreams I became that poët witch I am by accident. Oh yes, I did return to Wales a year later, but as a good friday never brings goodluck I still remember the blessings of that silly day, and walking by seaside of Tenby I reached my destiny with a broken leg and painfull head. Walking by the sea I spoke to God : You were joking, look at me, walking alone by the sea in confidence that my destiny was to be alive...I did survive...my tears were left at Clairence hotel, but my memory of my walking conversation with God will last forever...Yes I write spiritual poetry and these are offerings of love..what poetry really is.All my love.Luc Loeys |

I think it may have been Graham, Burton's brother I remember telling this back in the 80s after Richard had died. It was something lovely he'd said to his family about mourning him after he was gone and I've been trying to remember it. It went something like, don't be sad for, I am just in another room, beyond the door ... Perhaps it's in Graham's book which I didn't remember existing. Thanks for your page. A nice read. |

Well, I can tell you that I am a big fan of Catherine Zeta Jones. I think that her gloss in the screems is unique and actually enchanted me. By the way, I found this wensite because a few years ago I sent an e-mail to a library in Swansea asking about Catherine biographies, birthplace pictures and so on. Well, I can tell you that your site good at informations but if you don´t mind, I believe that you can have it well designed because it is to dark for her beauty. Don´t you think? The webpage should be more clear. Please don´t understand this message as a critical but as an advice to have it improved. Cheers. |

He moved to Aberdare from whence he, his wife, Maude, and 2 year old daughter, Margaret, immigrated to Wilkes-Barre, PA, USA, about 1882. My grandmother, Margaret, returned to Wales as a teenager to study dressmaking. She returned to W-B, married and raised 8 children. I've made 3 visits to Wales, but never spent the time I needed to do any research. This beautiful website has convinced me another visit is necessary. | Message: | Thanks for a great job! I traveled via train from London over to Swansea in the early 1990s and enjoyed every moment. One of the nicest things that happened to me was that I approached the post office there where I wanted to purchase stamps for my collection. At that time the postal worker asked if I would be in Swansea the next day. I told her that I was scheduled to return to London via train within an hour or so. She then told me that a collector's book of stamps and inforrmation on Wales would be for sale beginning the following morning. To make a long story short, I paid her for the item and before I returned to my home in Georgia, my wonderful stamp book was at home waiting for me. Such a pleasant experience! My dad's ancestors sailed from Swansea in 1638. My children are 13th generation Americans. Please keep up the good work! |

This was my one and only trip to see my homeland (I was born in Weymouth, UK in 1945). During our trip to the UK, my aunt and uncle drove us to Swansea because that is where my mother grew up. She is 91 years old now, but I'll never forget her happiness while showing me Caswell Bay (where she ran into a childhood girlfriend!), Mumbles Head, Rhossili Bay (my favorite place ever!), Constitution Hill with her old school at the top, and much, much more! Thank you for this web site. I intend to show it to her so that she can relive her happy times in Swansea, and maybe before my own days end, I can once again travel to this most wonderful place on earth! |

What a wonderful time I had in Swansea. Great city and even greater people. Through one of the hotel receptionists (stayed at Merchant Nave Hotel) got connected with an old Welsh gentlemen who took me around to see the sites. Went to places a tourist would never find. Especially loved the pubs when everyone started to sing. memories I will never forget. What a wonderful experience and how lucky I was to have made that visit. Would love to come back, but I am sure that will never happen. But thank you Swansea for being a part of my life. |

| Message: | I admire your acting especially since you have so much talent so I wish you a long and happy future especially since you are a credit to our country. I often thought there out to be a remake of "How green was my valley" by Richard Llewellyn with you as the female lead, Sir Anthony Hopkins as the father and Sarah Michelle Gellar as the younger sister and predominately Welsh cast. It would be better if the book sequels were also filme, eh! I am often disappointed that "The rape of the fair country" by Alexander Cordell has not been filmed - what a shame! Again, you would be good as the female lead, eh! Once again, I enjoy your acting so keep up the good work! With all best wishes! Chris Miller |

| Message: | We are viewing this site as a trip down memory lane for 32 years ago today we were married in Great Horwood, Buckinghamshire and elected to spend our honeymoon in the Mumbles. My mother was born there and we still have family to visit when we can get over from Canada where we now live. Your photographs are stunning and made me feel "homesick" for I spent many a summer with my parents on Caswell Bay - my favourite - making sand castles and searching the rock pools for crabs. It's a wonderful website - I'm so glad we discovered it and it will be in our favourites from now on. Truly hoping to be back for a visit this August ('05) It is TRULY magical... |
