Message:	Yes the beef or disagreements is confirmed. Just check out allhiphop.com where they interview PR and he comments on how CL behaved on there brief comeback tour. That he was mad that PR was getting the most attention and PR expressed how he wanted to see CL make it on his own just one time without Pete doing the beats and all that stuff. IT is sad because Pete will go on to make hits because he is the best producer out there PERIOD! Forget Timbo,Lil Jon, even sometimes the Neps PR always changes up his style each year. The one I say is a close second with him is Premo. What do you guys think? Please do not say Dre because although he is dope I hear alot of times he is not the one that actually did the beat all the way but, just put his name on it. Kinda like ghost writers he has ghost beatmakers.

I have followed your careers ever since Mecca and the Soul Brother. I want to commend Pete Rock for another masterpiece on Soul Survivor 2. The album is hot!! Pete, you really represent the title "SoulBrotherNumberOne" without a doubt. I have friends that I work with, one of them loves the beats on Main Ingredient and Soul Survivor as much as I do. C.L. Smooth has not lost a single step as far as rhyme skills are concerned. I recently bought the Beat Generation album and the track Back on the Block is my favorite. Pete, you and C.L. Smooth need to come back for real. Hiphopneeds a course on rhyme skills and beat production. The Petestrumentals album is a definite classic and I bought the Lost albums with Deda and INI and was completely blown away. It was as if I was listening to a piece of forgotten history in the hiphop community. I want to know whether or not is Pete going to do another Petestrumentals? You two together, without a doubt, are the dynamic duo of hiphop. C.L. you flow is on point like a needle in a pin cushion. You are one of the great lyricists out there who needs to get the props that is deserved. Groups such as EPMD, Mobb Deep, Gangstarr are heroes in my eyes. Message:	I've finally listened to the promotional CD for Soul SurvivorII and I must say that it's very tight. The Promo only has 10 sampler tracks on it like I mentioned in my earlier email. The CD is very cohesive from beginning to end and Fatman Scoop does a great job of hypin' up the CD. Tracks that standout are "Appreciate" feat. CL, "It's a Love Thing" feat CL and "Beef" feat. Krumbsnatcha. But the sleeper and possibly the best cut is "Give It To Ya" feat. Little Brother. On that track PR provides these 2 MC's with a very smoothed out beat and lovely hook. Message:	I finally had a opportunity to hear the Jazz Cafe show on CD and I must say it is so so refreshing to hear those two together. Man did I miss them! They are so so refreshing to hear on the microphones. Pete is as melodic as ever on "Love Thang". CL is still very consistent on mic and his delivery is very on point. One nugget that everyone may have missed is there scheduled release date is May 11, 2004. The snippets for there new music "It's Real" feat. GZA, "Love Thang" and the Talib Kweli track have really assured me that the dynamic duo can definitely can hold there place in todays hip hop scene NO DOUBT. These so called new MC's are about to get a lesson in what REAL HIP HOP sounds like NO QUESTION. Do your thing PR & CL. PEACE

Message:	Pete Rock and CL Smooth – The Treble Thanks to whoever it was that posted their response to my brother’s question (read the post below this one). I well enjoyed reading that and it would be good to get the views and opinions of others (especially the “geeky guy” you mentioned that was “literally losing his mind at the beginning of each track”. Seeing Pete Rock behind the decks and introducing CL Smooth to the beat from the intro to “In the House” “….I like to introduce myself”, it was made perfectly clear Pete and CL were here to spark it and from that moment on we were all ecstatic. CL Smooth is an incredible lyricist and makes spittin’ rhymes seem effortless. This was proved when Pete stopped the music for “Love Thing” where he performed acappella: cue the scrunched-up head-nodding and hand clapping. For the shows, the Dynamic Duo performed their classic material. For me, “Straighten it Out” captured the vibe for the shows with CL’s impromptu crowd participation “I can’t hear you…a little bit louder”. For me, though, the ultimate was hearing Pete Rock perform Soul Brother Number One. It’s my favourite track of ALL TIME and I had NO IDEA that beat would generate such hype. I’ll never forget seeing all those index fingers waving in the air with large gins rockin’ to the beat. Incredible. Pete and CL finished with one of hip-hop’s greatest beats ever made; They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.). The crowd went craaaazy mad. I also think lots of us were guilty of literally losing our minds or covering our open mouths in astonishment at the beginning of this track! At the end of T.R.O.Y., Pete and CL embraced at the front of the stage to a full-house which had just had the soul rocked out of ‘em. Pete and CL then left the stage and tracks from Pete’s forthcoming Soul Survivor 2 were played. Later, they re-appeared to sign autographs and pose for pictures with the fans. Though weeks have passed since Pete and CL were in town, I still find myself shaking my head in disbelief at how great the shows were. Each gig was of the highest quality and I have great personal memories from each one. To answer your question, B6FB, I think Thursday’s show just scraped it (goal difference). It would’ve been a clear points victory had you and Robin had been there. At one point during Thursday’s show, CL Smooth was dripping with sweat (Garner bowling style), he took one look at the hyped up crowd and said, “This is the nail in the coffin”. Man, how we all never managed to go together on Thursday is beyond me. If anybody else has seen Pete and CL, on their world tour, please post your feedback here. Chris

Message:	On a day when I'm being consumed by boredom I have stumbled upon this well thought out site. Seeing as no one bothered to respond to B6FB's questions I will. I attended the Jazz Cafe show on the Wednesday and loved it. I never dreamt I'd see my all-time favourite hip-hop duo live, let alone up close and personal. We ladies were in the thick of the action with the die-hard hip-hop headz and caught the full vibe. The usually reserved, ultra-cool London crowd were visibly moved and even allowed the sweat-beads to burst through their epidermis'. The set was near flawless, my only criticism being the absence of 'Lots of Lovin'. I then attended the Thursday night show specifically to hear 'Lots of Lovin'. This time I enjoyed the show from a different vantage point. Watching the crowd from the balcony I could see the sheer delight on their faces. There was one particular geeky looking guy at the front that was literally losing his mind at the beginning of each track. He spent the whole set alternating between covering his open mouth in astonishment or holding his dome - to stop his mind from literally blowing! This about sums up the general feeling. My personal highlights were 'Down wit da King', 'Straighten it Out', 'The Creator'("go Pete, go Pete!!!"), 'Love Thing', 'T.R.O.Y' and of course, 'Lots of Lovin'. I enjoyed both nights for entirely different reasons but in terms of the actual performance I'd have to say the Wednesday was slightly better. Gentlemen, thanks for doing my song. You were worth the TEN year wait!

When I heard Shine on Me I was diggin the whole element of Pete bringing that Soul back to the game. Then to hear CL’s lyrics was like old times. The song was not there best work, but it was a good chill joint for the heads to ride to. Then the Climax came next and my thoughts were left puzzled. I'm not saying you can't do party joints (check Searching and Take You There-from the Main Ingredient) but the track wasn't PR to me. Pete if you’re reading you’re my favorite producer in the world son, but that track was average kid! CL came off lyrically on the joint, but the beat just didn't capture his unique flow. All in all yaw still my niggas, but please keep your SHIT hip-hop with that Pete & CL vibe. One

Message:	Im from the Netherlands, and I've been into the rap game since 87 (12 years old). And i loved it ever since, but once Pete and CL stood up things changed dramatically. I consider them eternal, timeless. After all these years their music still gives me the goosebumps, and I quite often have Pete Rock (and CL) Day for myself, just playing THEIR records. I don't believe there's any Pete & CL or Pete solo (remix or regular track) that i don't love. Of course I got all their (solo) albums and I started collecting everyting on wax as well. Some is extremely hard to find (INI) or extremely expensive (Rare Tracks), but hey, it's for the love of their music. Now let's hope they give us this new album sooner or later, but then again if they won't: the love will never fade. Many many props for this site. Message:	I have been a big fan of Pete Rock & CL Smooth since I first heard the "Nighttrain Rmx" back in '92 and wondered "Who in the hell are these guys?". Not too long afterwards, I saw a YO! MTV RAPS soley devoted to PR, and the next day I ran out and copped ALL SOULED OUT and MECCA...and have been hooked ever since. While the (until recent) absence of a Pete Rock & CL Smooth related website was arguably criminal, Chris Allman's efforts just make it all seem worth the wait.
